The tattooed soccer star, underwear model and Mr. Posh Spice has been incredibly sexy for decades, and this was finally recognized Tuesday night when Jimmy Kimmel introduced the new People cover.
"It's the best moment of my career," Beckham joked. "I would obviously like to thank my parents for bringing me into this world. And I'd like to thank my hairdresser, my stylist, and Photoshop."
So how did Victoria Beckham and the couple's four children react? "We kind of laughed about it with the boys and the boys kind of laughed at me and said, 'Really?! Sexiest man alive? Really?'" Beckham recalled, adding that his oldest son, Brooklyn, has given him the hardest time. "Brooklyn was the one who was like, 'Are you sure it's not me that's meant to be there today?'"
Beckham succeeds last year's Sexiest Man Alive Chris Hemsworth. Other recent honorees include Adam Levine, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper and Ryan Reynolds.
