Batwoman, The CW's latest DC show, is coming to TV this fall, and now we have the first trailer for the Ruby Rose-led series.

In the preview, we're introduced to the Arrowverse's darkest show (sorry, Arrow), packed with intense action sequences, eccentric baddies, and plenty of girl power. Kate Kane (Rose) -- sans her signature red wig -- steps up as the fierce, feminist, and gritty hero Gotham needs in the wake of Batman's inexplicable absence. She faces a huge threat in the villainess Alice (Reign's Rachel Skarsten), who will serve as her arch-rival, much as the Joker is to Batman. The video also alludes to Kane's origins in the Army and the events that lead her to become a vigilante.

Everything We Know About Batwoman So Far

The series probably won't feature the Caped Crusader, but judging from the trailer, there will be plenty of Batman easter eggs to keep fans satiated. We've already seen the famous Batcave and that iconic Batsuit, which has been tailored to fit Kate, so you can expect lots more where that came from.

Batwoman made her debut in an episode of Arrow during the "Elseworlds" crossover in December, and the show was officially ordered to series earlier this month. Orange Is the New Black alum Rose plays Kate, a red-wigged lesbian superheroine who stepped up to defend Gotham City after Batman went AWOL three years ago. She has her own Bat-squad, with Teen Wolf's Meagan Tandy as Kate's security specialist/maybe girlfriend, and Luke Cage's Camrus Johnson as Luke Fox, who serves as Kate's tech advisor, just like his father Lucius was to Bruce Wayne. And she has her own version of the Joker, too, in the form of Alice, Kate's "maniacal and charming" secret twin sister.

Batwoman will air Sundays at 8/7c this fall on The CW.
