Apparently Cult couldn't gain a following — the CW series has been dropped from the network's schedule. 25 Bubble Shows: Which will survive? In the revised listings sent out on Wednesday, The CW noted that it will air an encore episode of The Carrie Diaries this week and then two repeats of Oh Sit! in Cult's timeslot. 25 Bubble Shows: Which will survive?

In the revised listings sent out on Wednesday, The CW noted that it will air an encore episode of The Carrie Diaries this week and then two repeats of Oh Sit! in Cult's timeslot. While the show is not officially canceled, it's no longer on the official schedule, a network rep tells TVGuide.com.

"Good news, Cult fans! Cult has been renewed for the next ten seasons due to its brilliant marketing campaign! Good job everyone," star Matt Davis tweeted after the news was out. He then added, "All joking aside, thank you to all who watched. It was a wonderful learning experience, and exciting misadventure. On to bigger and better!"

Cult stars Davis as a journalist who is prompted to investigate the rabid fans of a show called "Cult" when his brother goes missing. The series debuted to just 860,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating and was moved from Tuesdays to Fridays after the second episode.
