The Critics' Choice TV Awards is the (darling) baby of awards season. This is only the 9th year of awards, which, combined with the fact that its voting body is comprised solely by TV critics and journalists of the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, means it often has a significantly fresher, more adventurous perspective on this grand old industry. Take, for example, Elizabeth Olsen's Best Actress nod for Sorry For Your Loss. The series is Facebook Watch's first foray into successful programming (after a year of attempts) as well as awards buzz.

But in case you're afraid that all the critics' choices are deep cuts, don't worry, there's plenty of recognizable names on the list: The Americans led the pack with five nominations for its final season. Want to which other shows went toe to toe with the spy drama? Or see what other surprises pop up on this unusual list of contenders? Scroll down for the full list of nominees below.

And to see who takes home some shiny hardware, tune into The CW on Sunday, Jan 13. The ceremony will combine the 9th Critics' Choice TV Awards and the 24th Critics' Choice Film Awards.
