The Trailer for Woody Allen's Crisis in Six Scenes Is Here, and Looks Promising

The limited series hits Amazon on Sept. 30

The trailer for Woody Allen's Amazon series Crisis in Six Scenes has arrived, and I hate to say it, but it looks promising.

The series -- Allen's first foray into television -- is a 1960s period piece starring Allen and Elaine May as elderly surburbanites who get swept up in the youthful, rebellious countercultural movement of the time. Present-day rebellious youth Miley Cyrus plays their houseguest. Other cast members include comedian Lewis Black, Girls' Becky Ann Baker, Stranger Things' David Harbour and Orange Is the New Black's John Magaro.

Here are all the Amazon originals you should watch in September

The series was greenlit amid allegations that Allen sexually abused his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow. Woody Allen is a highly problematic person, but he knows how to write witty dialogue -- his character says he skipped out on an antiwar protest because he's "allergic to tear gas."

It all looks good, except for Miley Cyrus' wig, which looks very much like a wig.

Crisis in Six Scenes premieres Friday, Sept. 30 on Amazon Prime.
