Gleeactresses Amber Riley and Dot-Marie Jones have paid tribute to their late co-star Cory Monteith.
"Yesterday I got to sit with my Glee family and remember a man I considered a brother and a friend," Riley, who plays Mercedes, tweeted on Thursday, breaking her silence for the first time since Monteith was found dead Saturday of a heroin and alcohol overdose. "With a very heavy heart, RIP Cory Monteith. Continued prayer for his family and Lea [Michele]. Sending hugs to all you Gleeks."

During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jones choked back tears discussing Monteith's passing. "I love him and I still do. That will never go away.  I don't have [one] fond memory because every memory is fantastic," said Jones, who earned her third consecutive Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Coach Beiste.Jones also noted that Monteith never let his private struggles with drug and alcohol abuse affect his work. "I honestly didn't know," she  said. "This year I worked a lot with Cory one-on-one, and Cory was present."You hold in your heart the good things," Jones added.
