Communitygot six seasons, but what about that movie?!

Community star Danny Pudi is set to star in NBC's horror comedy pilot Strange Calls, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on Australian series, Strange Calls is about an affable but unlucky young cop (Pudi) who, because of his bad arrest record, is transferred by his dad to a rural town. He soon starts to realize his new home has a bizarre supernatural underbelly.

Pudi is in first position for Strange Calls. However, producers reportedly worked out the pilot dates around Community, which launches its sixth and likely final season on Yahoo Screen on March 17. Should the cult favorite be renewed for Season 7, Pudi would have to work out a new deal with the series, which was canceled by NBC after five seasons.

Blake McCormick of Cougar Town - on which Pudi appeared in Season 2 - will write the script for Strange Calls. Jason Winer will direct the single-camera comedy, and executive-produce with Aaron Kaplan, Tracey Robertson, Nathan Mayfield and McCormick.
