Network president Kent Alterman said, "Rob Lowe is handsome, talented, successful and handsome. He needs to be roasted." Lowe added, "What a thrill to once again be following in Justin Bieber's footsteps. I look forward to a night of hilarious jokes recycled from the James Franco Roast. I would like to express my gratitude to the members of my family who have passed away and therefore will not have to endure what promises to be a very special evening." A date has not been announced.
In the past, Comedy Central has roasted the likes of Trump, Bieber, Charlie Sheen and even Flava Flav. It's possible this roast will be more in line with a traditional celebration of Lowe's impressive career but given his short-lived comeback on Fox and enviable ability to still look 26 years old at age 52, there's certainly plenty of material.
Now, how do we get John Stamos to be the roast master?
