Stephen Colbert Stephen Colbert

Who says young people are politically apathetic?

Just this week, Stephen Colbert motivated 230,539 of his Colbert Report viewers to vote. Of course, they were voting to have a module of the international space station bear his last name, according to the Associated Press, but still — they voted!

NASA's online naming contest suggested such names as Serenity, Legacy and Venture, but also allowed write-in votes, for which Colbert lobbied hard on his Comedy Central show. He easily defeated the next closest contender by 40,000 votes. Nearly 1.2 million votes were cast overall.

According to the rules of the contest, NASA still has the option to choose the official name of the addition. But spokesman John Yembrick told the AP that NASA will give top vote-getters "the most consideration." The decision will be made in April, and the module will be launched later this year.

Do you think NASA should let the vote stand?
