Marvel's Cloak & Dagger: The Divine Pairing Assembles in Thrilling New Trailer

Light and dark assemble in the official trailer for Marvel's Cloak & Dagger. In a new teaser for the upcoming Freeform series, a crisis is headed to New Orleans and two confused but extremely powerful teens are the key to stopping it.

Tyrone, aka Cloak (Aubrey Joseph), is a troubled overachiever who can engulf individuals in darkness, while Tandy, aka Dagger (Olivia Holt), a rebel with an equally dark past, can emit light daggers. Their complimentary powers make them a divine pairing but this pre-destined union comes at a great cost: someone's life.

According to the teaser, one of them is destined to die while the other survives. This ominous prediction will weigh heavily on the duo as they come into their unique gifts and fight those bubbling romantic feelings for one another. If this isn't the perfect recipe for teen angst, I don't know what is.

The series is based on the Marvel Comics of the same name and was created by Underground's Joe Pokaski, who will also serve as the showrunner. Things are off to a great start with Love & Basketball director Gina Prince-Bythewood on board as both the writer and director of the pilot episode.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger premieres Thursday, June 7 at 8/7c on Freeform.
