Christina Aguilera to Sing National Anthem at Super Bowl

Christina Aguilera will sing the national anthem at this year's Super Bowl. The National Football League and Fox network announced Monday that the 30-year-old five-time Grammy winner will perform during the festivities before the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Green Bay Packers.

Aguilera is no stranger to the NFL stage. She was part of the halftime show at the 2000 Super Bowl.

"I have been performing the anthem since I was 7 years old and I must say the Super Bowl is a dream come true," she said in a statement. "I am really excited to be part of such an iconic event."

Previous performers of "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the Super Bowl include Carrie Underwood, Billy Joel, Diana Ross, Neil Diamond, Mariah Carey and Beyonce Knowles.

Super Bowl XLV will be played Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
