Musician and reality star Chris Carney, who was married to Disney Channel star Tiffany Thornton, was killed in a car accident in Hot Springs, Ark., early Friday morning, according to a local news report. He was 35.
Carney was a passenger in the car, which police say crashed into a tree after over-correcting while going around a curve shortly before 2 a.m. Friday. The driver, 37-year-old Ezekiel Blanton, was also killed in the accident.
Carney was the lead singer of the band The Prom Kings and was seen on the 2006 MTV show twentyfourseven, which chronicled Carney and his younger brother moving to Los Angeles to pursue their dreams.
He and Thornton, who starred in the Disney Channel show Sonny With a Chance, were married in 2011 and have two children. They briefly separated after the birth of their second son, and Carney accused Thornton of kidnapping their sons, but they reunited in September 2014.
