Jon Seda, who plays Det. Antonio Dawson on Chicago P.D., is getting a new gig -- and so is his character.

TVGuide.com has confirmed that Seda is joining the newest #OneChicago spin-off, Chicago Justice, as a series regular.

According to Deadline, which first reported the news, Dawson will take a new job as an investigator in the DA's office and will be partnered with Joelle Carter's Lori Nagle.

Ryan-James Hatanaka, who played Lori's partner in the Chicago Justice backdoor pilot, is reportedly leaving the show to be replaced by Seda.

There's no word on how or when Dawson will officially leave Chicago P.D; however, Chicago Justice is scheduled to premiere midseason. Deadline reports that Dawson's exit from Intelligence will stem from his desire to find a more steady job because he's a single father. The character started as a recurring role on mothership  Chicago Fire.
