According to Deadline, Raymund is set to lead Starz's new opioid epidemic drama P-Town as Jackie Quinones, a lesbian National Marine Fisheries Services officer who often trolls "P-Town" — the gay mecca of Provincetown, Massachusetts — to pick up girls. When she finds the body of an opioid addict washed up on the beach, Jackie's life begins to circle the drain.
A description for the show reads: "As she faces her own addictive behaviors, she becomes increasingly obsessed with solving the murder. Jackie's forced to confront the dark side of the idyllic summer spot — all the while putting herself and her sobriety in danger." Production on the new series is slated to begin in March.
We're obviously heartbroken to see Raymond leave Chicago Fire, especially since she starred as a badass paramedic and firefighter candidate for six seasons. However, this new gig is a serious step forward in Raymund's career — get it, girl — so here's hoping Fire fans will turn out for her new series.
"It has been an honor to play Dawson on Chicago Fire and one of the most meaningful experiences of my life," Raymund tweeted about her departure back in May. "I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it's time for me to move on to the next chapter in life."
See how Chicago Fire addresses Raymund's departure when Season 7 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 9/8c. Then catch Raymond in action when P-Town debuts in the near future.
