Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) and Severide (Taylor Kinney) have been dancing around their feelings for each other for far too long on Chicago Fire, and now that she's no longer dating Zach (Daniel Di Tomasso), they have an opportunity to finally come clean -- if they choose to take that risk.

"They work together, they live together and they both care a lot about the friendship they've built with one another. There's a lot that's at stake if it doesn't work out, so I think they both are protecting their hearts," Miranda Rae Mayo explained to TV Guide.

That excuse may have worked when they were freshly broken up but the smitten firefighters have developed an even stronger bond since then, making that argument seem flimsier and flimsier. And given the serious romantic signals they've been sending each other lately, it looks like a reconciliation may be in the works.

Let's hope they can figure this out now before Severide's ex Renée heads back to town to potentially stir up old feelings.
