In this exclusive sneak peek from Tuesday's fall finale of Chicago Fire (10/9c, NBC), Severide (Taylor Kinney) gets a chilly reception from a victim he tries to rescue him from a burning building.

Instead of waiting for instructions from the firefighters, aka the trained professionals, the man leaps out of the window and onto the ladder, pushing Severide aside and leaving him dangling several feet up from the ground.
