The Viva Las Vegas vet brought glamour, pathos and sex appeal to her role as a Sin City philanthropist with a dark secret who's terrorized by a serial psycho. Some of the details were pretty kinky — her assailant, Sqweegel (a character created in Dark Origins, a novel penned by exec producer Anthony Zuiker, who wrote and directed this standout episode), dressed in head-to-toe skintight latex. But the actress didn't bat an eyelash — after all, this is the woman who rolled around in a roomful of baked beans while wearing a white pantsuit (and earned an Oscar nomination) for Ken Russell's 1975 musical Tommy, based on the tunes of CSI theme-song specialists The Who.
She even managed to strike sparks with Laurence Fishburne's cold-fish Raymond Langston. The '60s siren won an Emmy for her guest gig as an obsessive-compulsive lover on Law & Order: SVU last season, and she should earn another nomination for CSI PDQ.
