Cheers to Community for going out on a high note — literally.
The indefatigable NBC sitcom and recent winner of TV Guide Magazine's Fan Favorites cover contest prefaced its indefinite — and undeserved — hiatus with a giddy holiday musical extravaganza just as wonderful as last season's instant-classic stop-motion spectacular. Wickedly parodying Glee (what the hell are sectionals anyway?), the episode boasted a show-stopping guest turn by SNL's Taran Killam as a choir director from hell and toe-tapping numbers from Abed, Troy, Annie and the gang.
Last week's episode was equally marvelous, with Yvette Nicole Brown the standout as Shirley revealed her foosball skills — and her bullying past — in a story that unexpectedly and uproariously shifted into anime mode. That's the beauty of Community: Even when it's not a cartoon, it's always animated.
How will you cope without Community?
