The Charmed reboot may have been controversial, but you know what they say -- there's no such thing as bad publicity. Charmed appears to have thrived on the controversy, being the first freshman series on The CW to get a full season order!

The CW President Mark Pedowitz announced today that the network has ordered a full, 22-episode season from Charmed as well as three additional episodes ofAll AmericanandLegacies. That takes the total number of episodes in All American and Legacies first season up to 16. If you're wondering why Charmed got singled out for more episodes than the other two freshman series, it most likely has to do with the sizable increases in ratings once delayed viewing was factored in. All American and Legacies have both seen upticks in delayed viewing, but Charmed has seen its linear ratings more than double in key demos in Live+7 viewership.

This full season order bodes well for Charmed's chances of renewal, especially considering The CW will be losing so many shows from its roster when spring rolls around. iZombie, Crazy Ex-GirlfriendandJane the Virgin are all on their final seasons this year, and while that doesn't guarantee that The CW will be less likely to cancel its freshman series, it certainly makes it a less competitive race than usual.
