Olympic Ice Dancer Charlie White Is Engaged

Olympic ice dancer and Dancing with the Starscompetitor Charlie White is engaged to his girlfriend Tanith Belbin, he announced Tuesday on Instagram.

"Couldn't ask for a more beautiful setting for the best time in our life," he wrote alongside a photo of the pair in Hawaii. "Hashtag she said yes!!!"

The news comes weeks after White, 26, competed on Dancing with the Stars Although he finished fifth, his Olympic partner Meryl Davis won the Mirrorball trophy. White and Davis made history in February when they became the first Americans to win the gold medal for ice dancing at the Sochi Olympics.

Despite previous romance rumors linking the longtime ice dance couple, Davis tweeted her well wishes to the happy couple. "Congrats to these two! Beautiful girl, beautiful [ring]," she wrote. "Good work @CharlieaWhite."

Belbin, 29, is also an ice dancer. She and her partner, Ben Agosto, won the silver medal at the Torino games in 2006.
