Charlie Sheen's Wife in Hospital With Surgery-Related Infection

Charlie Sheen's estranged wife, Brooke Mueller, was admitted to an intensive care unit Wednesday after undergoing oral surgery, The Associated Press reported.

Mueller, 32, had a 105-degree fever when she was taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital, her attorney, Yale Galanter told the news service. "She has an infection as the result of oral surgery earlier in the week," Galanter said. "They're concerned and trying to get it under control."

Sheen, 44, was attempting to get permission to visit his wife in the hospital Wednesday, the AP said. A court order stemming from the Two and a Half Men star's Christmas domestic violence arrest bars the couple from communicating with each other.

Lawyers: Sheen and wife want to reconcile

The next hearing in the case — which was originally rescheduled from Wednesday to Friday because of Mueller's oral surgery Tuesday — is expected to be postponed a second time. Sheen is next due in court Feb. 8.

Sheen was arrested Christmas Day in Aspen, Colo., on charges including felony menacing and domestic violence. The Emmy-nominated actor is accused of putting a knife to his wife's throat and threatening to kill her.

Since his arrest, Sheen has attempted to end the restraining order preventing him from talking to his wife so that the couple can reconcile. Prosecutors filed a motion at the end of December opposing the dismissal and a judge was expected to rule on the matter this week. The couple were married in May 2008 and have 9-month-old twins, Bob and Max.

Galanter did not return calls and e-mails, and Sheen's rep, Stan Rosenfield, declined to comment.
