CBS Gives Series Commitment to Supergirl --- Who Should Play Her?

Superhero shows are in danger of being super overdone. CBS has given a series commitment to a Supergirl show from Arrow's Greg Brelanti, TVGuide.com has learned.

Written by Berlanti and fellow executive producer Ali Adler, Supergirl will follow Kara Zor-El after she escaped from Krypton. Since her arrival on Earth, Kara has hidden the powers she shares with her cousin, Clark Kent. But now that she's 24, Kara decides to become the superhero she was always meant to be.

The role has not yet been cast. Laura Vandervoort most recently played Kara onSmallville. 

Sarah Schechter will also executive-produce the one-hour drama.
