Unforgettable is officially getting a second chance on CBS.
The network has revived the canceled freshman drama for a 13-episode second season, slated to air in the summer of 2013, TVGuide.com has confirmed. CBS first tweeted the news Friday evening.
CBS in talks to revive Unforgettable
The procedural, starring Poppy Montgomery as a detective who has the ability to remember everything, was canceled in May despite steady ratings; it averaged 11 million viewers and a 2.5 in the adults 18-to-49 demo in its first season.
CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler later said that the cancellation was a "difficult" decision that was made after looking at the network's pilots. "I don't know if it's what went wrong [with Unforgettable]. It was more about what went right with the new pilots," she said.
