One day after ordering three more seasons of The Big Bang Theory, CBS has given early renewals to 18 more shows for the 2014-2015 season.
Fall TV Scorecard: What's renewed? What's canceled?
The nine dramas picked up are NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Person of Interest, CSI, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds, Elementary and The Good Wife. The comedies that were given renewals are 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Two and a Half Men, and freshman comedies The Millersand Mom.
But not every show made the cut. Conspicuously absent from the list was The Mentalist, which has struggled in the ratings and earlier this season wrapped up its series-long Red John story line. Also failing to earn an early renewal was The Crazy Ones, the freshman comedy starring Robin Williams and Sarah Michelle Gellar as a father-daughter advertising team. Final decisions about those show's futures will be made by the network's upfront presentations in May.
The network also announced renewals for the reality shows Undercover Boss and The Amazing Race, as well as 60 Minutesand 48 Hours. (Survivor's renewal had been announced previously.)
What are your thoughts on the news? Which returning shows are you most excited about? And are you disappointed The Crazy Ones and The Mentalist weren't picked up (yet)?
