Patricia Arquette has been tapped to star in CBS' latest CSI spin-off pilot, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Arquette will play Avery Ryan, the head of the FBI's Cyber Crime Division in Quantico, Va., who solves crimes that start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world.

The pilot will air as an episode of CSI this spring. If the cyber-crime spin-off is picked up to series, it will mark Arquette's first full-time return to broadcast television following the conclusion of her Emmy-winning role on Medium, which moved from NBC to CBS for its final two seasons. Arquette's more recent credits include Boardwalk Empire and Law & Order: SVU.
The CSI spin-off is inspired by cyber psychologist Mary Aiken and comes from CSIcreators Anthony Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn and Ann Donahue. Jerry Bruckheimer andJonathan Littman will executive-produce alongside the trio.
