House Alum Kal Penn Joins Vince Gilligan Drama Battle Creek

Kal Penn is reuniting with his former Houseboss David Shore for the new CBS drama Battle Creek, Deadline.com reports.

Battle Creek, which was given a straight-to-series 13-episode order,centers on a detective and an FBI agent with differing world views who team up in Battle Creek, MI. Penn will play another detective who has reservations about the incoming FBI agent.

Shore will executive-produce the project with Breaking Bad's Vince Gilligan, who created Battle Creek back in 2002 and who will also write.

Penn starred on House for two seasons before leaving to accept a job at the White House. Also known for the Harold & Kumarfranchise, Penn has since appeared on CBS' short-lived comedy We Are Menand How I Met Your Mother.
