CBS has given a pilot commitment to a modern version of classic 1970s cop series Hawaii Five-O, according to The Hollywood Reporter.The redo comes from Fringe co-creators and executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci and CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov. CBS first tried to launch a Hawaii update last year with Criminal Mindsexecutive producer Ed Bernero. The original series, which starred Jack Lord as Steve McGarrett, the leader of the fictional Hawaiian State Police Department, was best known for its opening theme song and the catchphrase, "Book 'em, Danno."
