CBS Fall Lineup: CSI, The Good Wife and Rules Go on the Move

CBS has shaken up its fall schedule, shifting CSI to Wednesdays to make room for J.J. Abrams' new thriller Person of Interest on Thursdays and moving The Good Wife to Sundays.

Person of Interest gets the Thursdays-at-9 slot, which had been inhabited by CSI since 2001. The project reunites Abrams with Lost star Michael Emerson, who will play a billionaire who recruits a presumed-dead CIA agent (Jim Caviezel) to catch violent criminals in New York. Memento's Jonathan Nolan will executive-produce. Taraji P. Henson and Kevin Chapman co-star.CSI will now air Wednesdays at 10/9c, following Survivor and Criminal Minds.Preceding Person of Interest at 8:30/7:30c is the new comedy How to Be a Gentleman from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia scribe David Hornsby. Hornsby plays an uptight guy who learns to live with the help of an old high school friend (Kevin Dillon).

The network's other new sitcom, 2 Broke Girls, gets the post-How I Met Your Mother berth on Mondays at 8:30/7:30c. From Whitney Cummings, whose other pilot was just picked up by NBC, the show stars Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings as two girls from very different backgrounds working as waitresses in New York and hoping to start their own business. The project was co-written by Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King.
Two and a Half Men, now starring Ashton Kutcher, will remain on Mondays at 9/8c, followed by Mike & Molly.

CBS picks up J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest, 2 Broke Girls comedy
The Good Wife will relocate to Sundays at 9/8c, in between The Amazing Race and CSI: Miami, to make way for new cop drama Unforgettable on Tuesdays at 10/9c. Inspired by J. Robert Lennon's short story "The Rememberer," Unforgettable follows an NYPD detective (Poppy Montgomery) who has the special ability to remember everything.
CBS picks up Poppy Montgomery drama
A Gifted Man will anchor Fridays at 8/7c, leading into CSI: NY and Blue Bloods. The medical drama stars Patrick Wilson as a man whose life is changed forever when his ex-wife (Jennifer Ehle) dies and begins teaching him about life from the hereafter.
Another veteran series on the move: Rules of Engagement, which was renewed late Tuesday, will air on Saturdays at 8/7c.

Robert De Niro's new drama The 2-2 (formerly Rookies)—aboutsix new NYPD cops trying to balance their personal lives while working the streets of Manhattan — and Undercover Boss will be held to midseason.
