CBS Orders CSI Spin-Off Drama Pilot

CBS has ordered a CSI spin-off drama pilot from Jerry Bruckheimer and Anthony Zuiker, TVGuide.com has learned.

The untitled project, which will be launched as a planted spin-off within an upcoming episode of CSI, features Avery Ryan, a special agent at the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI, who tracks faceless criminals who are committing crimes with the touch of a button. Technology has enabled the criminals to originate their crimes online and then have them play out in the real world.

Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman will be executive producers; Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn andAnn Donahue will write and executive-produce. The pilot will also be produced by Mary Aiken and is inspired by her work as a cyberpsychologist.
