According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hulu's horror anthology series will bring back one of the most unsettling characters from the Stephen King collective in Season 2: Annie Wilkes from Misery.
Lizzy Caplan will step into the iconic role as the unhinged book fanatic -- famously played in the 1990 film by Kathy Bates, who won Oscar for her performance -- and her presence will ignite a feud between the Merrill crime family of the titular town and the Somali community of the nearby Jerusalem's Lot.

Joining Caplan in the cast will be Elsie Fisher (of Eighth Grade acclaim) as Annie's teenage daughter; Tim Robbins as Reginald "Pop" Merrill from King's Needful Thingsand the novella The Sun Dog; Garrett Hedlund as his nephew John "Ace," who was a central character in Stand By Me and the novella The Body; Matthew Alan as Ace's brother Chris; Barkhad Abdi as a Somali community leader; and Yusra Warsama as Dr. Nadia Omar, a doctor in Jerusalum's Lot.
Castle Rock is based on several elements and characters from the Stephen King book and screen universe; King and J.J. Abrams executive-produce. The series debuted in the summer of 2018 and, after strong ratings and critical praise, was quickly renewed for a second season, with plans for it to become an anthology-style show.
