All the Canceled and Renewed TV Shows in July 2026

After the annual spring rush of TV renewals and cancellations, the headlines have slowed down this summer, and July was sleepy overall. But the month ended with a big announcement, and unfortunately, it's not wonderful: Wonder Man has reportedly been canceled at Disney+ and won't return for a second season, even though a renewal was announced in March.

Meanwhile, AMC's Interview with the Vampire, renamed The Vampire Lestat in its third season, has been renewed for a fourth season, and it's reinventing itself again with another new title. Get ready for Queen of the Damned. Plus, American Idol is tuning up for Season 25, its tenth on ABC; Peacock's Love Island: Beyond the Villa will be back for Season 3; and Netflix's Beauty in Black has scored a surprise renewal for Season 4.

In glass-half-full news, Godfather of Harlem will get closure with a two-hour series finale on MGM+, Paramount+'s international hit comedy Colin From Accounts will end after its upcoming third season, and Apple TV has announced that the upcoming fifth season of The Morning Show will be its last. In glass-just-plain-empty news, Paramount+ has canceled Tracy Morgan's Crutch after one season.

TV show cancellations

• Wonder Man, Disney+: In a sad reversal of fortunes, Wonder Man — which was renewed for Season 2 in March — apparently won't be back for a second season after all. Variety reports that the show has been canceled after one season at Disney+. (July 30, Variety)
• Crutch, Paramount+: Tracy Morgan's spin-off of The Neighborhood is done after one season as Paramount+ moves away from original comedy. (July 24, Deadline) 
• The Morning Show, Apple TV: Sad news to wake up to. The Jennifer Aniston- and Reese Witherspoon-starring TV news biz drama was renewed for Season 5 back in September, but this month Apple revealed it will be the show's final season. Season 5 will air in 2027. (July 23, Apple TV)
• Colin From Accounts, Paramount+: The well-reviewed Australian romantic comedy will end after its upcoming third season. Creators and stars Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer announced the news in a video on Instagram. (July 14, Instagram)
• It's Not Like That, Prime Video: The faith-based drama starring Scott Foley as a newly widowed minister has been canceled after one season. Foley addressed the news on Instagram, saying he was "disappointed" but "so proud" of the show. (July 7, Deadline)

TV show renewals

• American Idol, ABC: The long-running music competition series will take the stage again for Season 25, its tenth season since moving to ABC. Per Deadline, auditions are set to kick off in August, with the new season expected to air in 2027. (July 29, Deadline)
• President Curtis, Adult Swim: The Rick and Morty spin-off centered on Keith David's titular character is already hard at work on a second season, news that was announced just before the July 26 Season 1 premiere. (July 24, Adult Swim)
• Interview with the Vampire, AMC: AMC's Interview with the Vampire isn't dead yet; the gothic drama based on Anne Rice's novels will be back for Season 4 under new showrunner Hannah Moscovitch. The show, which rebranded as The Vampire Lestat for Season 3, will be retitled Queen of the Damned as it turns its focus to Sheila Atim's Akasha. (July 24, AMC)
• Beauty in Black, Netflix: It was announced in December that Beauty in Black would end with Season 3, but the Tyler Perry drama has now been renewed for Season 4. Netflix broke the news with an Instagram video. Perry told Netflix's Tudum, "There was so much more I wanted to explore, and I'm grateful I get to keep telling this story." A Season 3 premiere date hasn't been confirmed. (July 23, Netflix)
• Sullivan's Crossing, The CW: A month after landing a fifth season renewal at CTV, Sullivan's Crossing has now officially been picked up for Season 5 by The CW, where it airs in the U.S. The Canadian drama, which stars Morgan Kohan and Chad Michael Murray, is set to return in 2027 with a 10-episode season. • Love Island: Beyond the Villa, Peacock: The reality show that follows up on contestants from the hit unscripted series will return for a third season, which will air in 2027. (July 12, Deadline)
• House of David, Prime Video: The Biblical drama about the life of King David has been renewed for a third season. (July 10, Prime Video)
• Godfather of Harlem, MGM+ — SERIES FINALE: After four seasons, the 1960s-set crime drama will return for a two-hour series finale, wrapping up the story of Forest Whitaker's New York gangster Bumpy Johnson. (July 1, Deadline)
