Camille Grammer is recovering after undergoing surgery for early stage endometrial cancer, People reports.

"She underwent a radical hysterectomy today," her rep, Howard Bragman, told the magazine. "The surgery went well, and she is expected to make a complete recovery following a significant recuperation period."

TMI! Celebrities who overshare

Grammer, who will not return to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsthis coming season, had two children via surrogate with her ex-husband, actor Kelsey Grammer. Grammer, 45, discovered she was at an elevated risk for cancer due to genetic issues.

"[She] has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment," Bragman said. "Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her."

Endometrial cancer, which affects the lining of the uterus, is the most common cancer of the female reproductive system. Risk factors include hormone imbalance, high blood pressure and diabetes.
