Caitlyn Jenner is going from transgender advocate to actress. Jill Soloway confirmed at the GLAAD Awards on Saturday night that Jenner will be joining the new season of Transparent.

Soloway told the Associated Press that the casting was a "dream come true" during the award ceremony and said that Jenner will begin filming her scenes next week. The showrunner did not specify who Jenner would be playing.

According to Soloway, crossing paths with Jenner was inevitable considering their multiple connections. "We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, I Am Cait," Soloway said. "Lots of crossover. Lots of friends."

The Amazon series stars Jeffrey Tambor as transwoman Maura Pfefferman, who decides to begin her transition later in life. The show has garnered rave critical reviews and won Golden Globes for Best Comedy Series and Best Lead Actor in a Comedy last year. Tambor also took home an Emmy in September for his performance. The series' third season will debut later this year, but no official date has been set.

Both Transparent and I Am Cait were nominated for GLAAD awards at Saturday's ceremony, which will be televised Monday on Logo at 10/9c.
