After director Bryan Singer filed a motion to dismiss a sex abuse lawsuit, the plaintiff's lawyer has withdrawn from the case, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the lawsuit, Michael Egan claims that Singer sexually abused him from age 15 to 17 and flew him to Hawaii for sex. Singer says he was in Canada working on X-Men during the time period when Egan alleges the trips to Hawaii took place.

Singer, who has denied all allegations made against him, filed to dismiss the suit in May, citing a lack of jurisdiction and a 2003 deposition given by Egan that states Singer was never in Hawaii with Egan and never sexually abused him.

Now, Egan is being dropped by his lawyer, Jeff Herman.

"We are in the process of withdrawing from representing Mr. Egan in all his cases and have no further comment concerning his matters at this time," read a statement from Herman's office. "We cannot comment on any actual or purported documents that may or may not be or reflect privileged or confidential communications. We decline to speak about any other clients we may or may not have represented."

The news comes on the heels of a Buzzfeed report that claims Herman, Singer, and Singer's lawyer signed an agreement to settle the case in June, but Egan refused to sign.
