Grammy-winning Mars released his first album Doo-Wops & Hooligans in 2010. His second album, Unorthodox Jukebox was released last year and has produced the No. 1 hits "Locked Out of Heaven" and "When I Was Your Man."

The last Super Bowl halftime performer was Beyonce, who held a specialDestiny's Child reunion during the much-hyped event. Previous performers include Madonna in 2012, The Black Eyed Peas with Usher and Slash in 2011 and The Who in 2010.

The Super Bowl will be held Feb. 2 at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, N.J.
