British soap star William Roache, who's the world's longest-serving soap actor, was charged Wednesday with two counts of rape against an underage girl, according to Reuters.

Roache, who plays Ken Barlow on the British soap Coronation Street, is accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in 1967, Reuters reports.

Roache, 81, has a court appearance scheduled for May 14. He has not made any comment since he was arrested Wednesday.
