"Just like Brittany," assistant chief coroner Ed Winter said when reporting the 39-year-old screenwriter's cause of death. Though prescription drugs were detected in Monjack's system, the levels were not lethal, he added.
Murphy, whose death resulted from a combination of pneumonia, an iron deficiency and multiple legal drug intoxication, died at age 32 in her home in December 2009.
She was best known for her roles in Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, Don't Say a Word, and 8 Mile. She also lent her voice to the show King of the Hill for 12 years as Luanne Platter.
