There's a new House star coming to Bravo, and no, we're not talking about a new Real Housewife.

Bravo has picked up 13 episodes of Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, starring House alum Lisa Edelstein, TVGuide.com has confirmed. This marks the cable network's first-ever scripted series. The news was first reported by Deadline.com.

From Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer Marti Noxon and based on the best-selling books of the same name, the hour-long series centers on Abby (Edelstein), a self-help book author who tries to hide her separation from her husband as she begins to navigate life as a single woman in her 40s. She goes to her divorced friends, instead of her married ones, for advice which leads her to unexpected and life-altering experiences.

TV's most stylish characters

The series, which will premiere next year, also stars Janeane Garofalo (24) and Beau Garrett (Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior). Carrie Fisher and Private Practice vet Paul Adelstein will guest-star in the pilot.

"From the minute we saw this script, we felt this was really on brand for Bravo — it's got lots of humor, lots of fun, and it's incredibly stylish," Bravo and Oxygen Media President  Frances Berwick, said in a statement. "More than anything, this is a real passion project for Marti who is a big Bravo fan."

TV shows we're losing this year

Added Noxon: "Everybody knows this was all an elaborate scheme to get myself on Watch What Happens Live! Seriously, I can't thank everyone enough at Bravo and Universal Cable Productions for making Girlfriends' something special.  I am confident that Lisa is going to be TV's next girl crush; she's certainly mine."

Since leaving House in 2011, Edelstein has guest-starred on Castle, Scandal and The Good Wife.
