Thor: The Dark World hammered the box office this weekend, hauling in $86.1 million — about $20 million better than the first Thor did in its debut weekend, and more than the other movies in this week's Top 10 combined. The sequel had a fairly disappointing 3-D showing though, with only 39 percent of receipts coming from the 3-D version, Box Office Mojo reports.

Holding steady in second place was Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, which brought in $11.3 million in its third week. Animated film Free Birds jumped a spot to No. 3 with $11.2 million in its second week, narrowly slipping past Last Vegas, which landed at No. 4 with $11.1 million.
Last week's top film, Ender's Game, had a 62 percent dropoff and fell to No. 5 with $10.25 million. Gravity took the sixth spot with an $8.4 million haul in its sixth week, and 12 Years a Slave stayed at No. 7 with $6.6 million.
Rounding out the Top 10 were Captain Phillips (No. 8, $5.8 million), About Time (No. 9, $5.2 million) and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (No. 10, $2.8 million).
