Box Office: Son of God Is No Match for Liam Neeson

Son of God, the pared-down feature-film version of the History Channel miniseries The Bible, had an impressive debut at the box office this weekend, taking in $26.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports. But it wasn't able to best Liam Neeson's action thriller Non-Stop, which landed at No. 1 with $30 million.

But it wasn't able to best Liam Neeson's action thriller Non-Stop, which landed at No. 1 with $30 million.

Last week's top earner, The LEGO Movie, fell to third place behind the two new releases, with $21 million. The Monuments Men moved up a spot to No. 4 with $5 million, edging out 3 Days to Kill, which took in $4.9 million.

At No. 6 was RoboCop with $4.5 million, and Pompeii claimed the seventh-place spot with $4.3 million.

In its 15th week in theaters, Frozen's $3.6 million in receipts made it just the 18th film of all time to cross the $1 billion mark.

Rounding out the top 10 were About Last Night (No. 9, $3.4 million) and Ride Along ($3 million).
