Furious 7 sped past the competition at the box office this weekend, earning a whopping $143.6 million in its debut. That's the ninth biggest opening of all time, and the biggest of the franchise, Box Office Mojo reports.

The movie features an emotional tribute to late star Paul Walker as its final scene, which Vin Diesel posted on Facebook.
