Box Office: Did Exodus Flop?

Biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings debuted with a whimper at the box office this weekend, taking in just $24.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports. But that was still enough for it to overtake The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part One and claim the No. 1 spot.

Biblical epic Exodus: Gods and Kings debuted with a whimper at the box office this weekend, taking in just $24.5 million, Box Office Mojo reports. But that was still enough for it to overtake The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part One and claim the No. 1 spot.

Mockingjay and Penguins of Madagascar each dropped a spot, coming in at Nos. 2 and 3 with $13.2 million and $7.3 million, respectively.

The best TV shows of 2014

Chris Rock's Top Five had a solid opening, landing in fourth place with $7.2 million.

Big Hero 6 and Interstellar both continued to perform well in their sixth weeks in theaters, coming in at Nos. 5 and 6 with $6.1 million and $5.5 million, respectively. At No. 7 was Horrible Bosses 2 with $4.6 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were Dumb and Dumber To (No. 8, $2.7 million),The Theory of Everything (No. 9, $2.5 million) and Wild (No. 10, $1.5 million).
