Could Bonessixth season finale turn into a baby boom?
While we know for sure that Thursday's finale (9/8c, Fox) will feature the birth of Angela and Hodgins' baby, a certain level of mystery sill revolves around how Emily Deschanel's real-life pregnancy may impact the show. After all, Deschanel's character, Dr. Temperance Brennan, did crawl into bed with Booth (David Boreanaz) in a moment of grief during the penultimate episode.

Emily Deschanel's pregnancy may result in an abbreviated Bones season

Did the couple finally hook up and might Brennan end up preggers? "I'd rather people really wonder what we're going to do," says Hart Hanson, the show's always coy creator and executive producer. "[Brennan being pregnant] is one of the options I would hate to either put forward or take back. It's possible, and that's why I want people to watch."Angela's pregnancy is much less mysterious. Although the finale finds her well past her due date (in the clip below, she takes speeding up the process into her own hands), we will see a baby born before the end of the episode. But first, Angela (Michaela Conlin) and Hodgins (TJ Thyne) will have to choose a new doctor at the last minute and they will even be Skype-ing with Cam (Tamara Taylor) to help solve a murder from the hospital. There is one lingering question, though: Will the baby, who the couple fears could be born blind because of their shared genetic anomaly, be healthy?  "Whatever happens, I think Angela and Hodgins are pretty ready for it at this point," Conlin says. "I'm really glad Hart chose to show quite a few scenes where we could see the emotional weight of becoming parents. I'm glad it wasn't just all these loving conversations about picking out baby outfits. The two of them have moved forward."

While Conlin is most excited to move the prosthetic baby bellies out of her wardrobe trailer next season, she's also eager to see how her character handles being a mom. "I'm really excited to bring more of the [early seasons'] Angela into the raising of the child," she says. "I really like the parts of Angela that are wild and free and direct and strong. I want to see her trying to bring those to the kid. I don't want to see her domesticate and become a boring mom."How much viewers will see of the baby also remains a mystery. Might the show go home with the characters more? "I hope so," Conlin says, noting that Hodgins bought the couple a house earlier this season. "They have sort of a modest home, and it would be great to see them there. Having the crib in the lab is kind of cool, though. I could see them both in the lab with Baby Bjorns."Conlin says it was a unique experience to pretend to be pregnant while knowing that Deschanel was really expecting. The two are close friends, just like their characters, and Conlin suggests that Angela may yet be able to get to the bottom of exactly what went down between Booth and Brennan in that bedroom.

"Angela is always a part of things that don't involve her," Conlin says with a laugh. "That's what I like about her. She is involved a bit in revealing things, but obviously it's between the two of them."As for Hanson, who knows very well how long the fans have been screaming for a Booth-Brennan hookup, he is confident in the surprises that await viewers in the finale."I think there will be a big response," he says. "It's satisfying. I think if people watch the season-ender, they will be back in droves for Season 7."Bones' Season 6 finale airs Thursday at 9/8c on Fox. Watch a clip from the episode:
