We live in a dystopia

I mean, Miley Cyrus' VMAs performance was basically an episode of Black Mirror, so it's not a total surprise that she's going to appear in Season 5 of Netflix's dystopian anthology series.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, The singer/once and future actress confirmed her Black Mirror appearance during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show Wednesday. While she was talking about losing her Malibu home to the wildfire that devastated Southern California last month, she mentioned that she was filming in South Africa when it happened. Stern then correctly guessed that she was working on Black Mirror. Cyrus wouldn't talk in detail about her Black Mirror role, since she was not cleared by Netflix to talk about it, but she did give a little bit of a sense of what her return to acting will entail.

"There's a lot of dimension to it, and actually it was while the devastation of Malibu was happening, and it was a really weird learning experience for me, because I was so far from home and the show is already really dark, and it's already kind of eerie when you're there the whole time," she said. "But I learned a lot about myself and I think I was able to use that and put that into it."

Black Mirror Season 5 is coming sometime, possibly as soon as the end of the month (a Netflix Twitter account posted then deleted a Dec. 28 premiere for something called Black Mirror: Bandersnatch), but Netflix has not confirmed a premiere date.
