Who knew the Thanos snap could erase you from one futuristic world with impossible technology only to land you in another -- at least in Anthony Mackie and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's case...

Deadline reports that Netflix's hit anthology series, Black Mirror, has cast Captain America's Anthony Mackie and Aquaman's Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in its' upcoming fifth season, but any information about their characters or which episode they'll appear in is being kept strictly under lock and key by the streaming giant.

Black Mirror isa twisted anthology series that explores the depths of depravity humanity can sink to when presented with phenomenal technological developments. The series is always steeped in mystery, and it's got a sharp edge to most of its episodes that make it hard to watch but impossible not to binge.

Not much is known in general about Season 5 -- which is nothing new when it comes to Black Mirror -- other than that it won't lean too heavily into the choose-your-own-adventure storytelling method used in Charlie Brooker's other Netflix hit, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. Booker also confirmed that though the crux of Black Mirror will always be mired in horror and the dystopian effects technology could have on our society, we'll also still be seeing a good mixture of "happy" episodes in with the dark ones. "We're doing more optimistic episodes and stories, rather than just dystopian and negative ones," he told the Times. "We want to keep the show interesting for us."

Marvel Is Working on the Winter Soldier and Falcon Show You've Always Wanted

So, if you're the kind of person that skips "Black Museum" and "Fifteen Million Merits" in favor of "San Junipero," "Hang the DJ" and "USS Callister" -- well then, shame on you -- it sounds like at least you'll have a good selection of episodes to check out in this new season.

Black Mirror is currently streaming on Netflix.
