The Los Angeles Police Department has opened an investigation into allegations that Bill Cosby molested a 15-year-old girl, The Associated Press reports.

Judy Huth, who is currently suing the comedian for sexual battery and emotional distress, alleges that Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on himself in 1974. LAPD officer Jane Kim said that after meeting with Huth, the department decided to open an investigation on Friday.

Cosby and his lawyer continue to deny the allegations. They recently filed a counter-suit against Huth, claiming she tried to extort $250,000 and attempted to sell her story to a tabloid ten years ago.

More than 20 women so far have come forward accusing Cosby of sexual abuse. Police Chief Charlie Beck has urged any potential victims of abuse by Cosby to speak to detectives, whether or not the incidents fall outside the statute of limitations.
