Entering the Biggest Loser ranch as the heaviest team in history was not the greatest record to set, but twins James and John Crutchfield — weighing in at 485 and 484, respectively — were determined to shed the pounds and become the second twin ever to win the Loser grand prize. Although they each lost 23 pounds in the first week, James was eliminated, leaving he and his brother "floored," John tells "Those were great numbers and we definitely expected to be there until the end, so it was a big shock."

John quickly learned he'd have to focus on himself with his partner gone. "I woke up the next day and got my head clear ... you learn on the ranch it has to be about you and from that aspect, it got easier from there," Crutchfield said.

Advice from first person eliminated on The Biggest Loser: Just start now

Unfortunately, John's time was up and he was eliminated this past week. Back at home, he's down a total of more than 100 pounds and looks forward to continuing to overcome some of his weaknesses that include "football and chicken wings."

With the Super Bowl coming up this Sunday, the 30-year-old plans to substitute the fried food with grilled wings. "Grilled lemon pepper chicken wings are really good ... and they're not too bad for you," John says.

Desserts don't have to be out of the question either. "There's a really low-calorie, no-sugar dessert that we love to make — it's kind of like a pudding pie. You mix one packet of sugar-free Jell-O with skim milk and then one container of fat-free, sugar-free Cool Whip and then blend it together, put it in this all-natural organic pie crust, put it in the fridge and it's just awesome."
