With Chuck (Michael McKean) officially dead, Better Call Saul is about to enter dark new territory and TV Guide has an exclusive sneak peek at what's to come.

In a preview of Season 4, which includes new footage from Chuck's funeral, the show's cast and crew tease a rough road ahead for Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) who will now have to cope with losing his older brother. "Jimmy McGill has his own, very unusual way of dealing with the death of his brother," executive producer Peter Gould said in the video. Added producer Ann Cherkis, "This season is so psychological. It's what's going on in his head."

Chuck's death will put Jimmy directly on the path towards becoming Saul Goodman, a man who fancies get-rich-quick schemes over intimate relationships, which leaves little room for romance. Those seeds will be sown this season with Jimmy headed towards a dark spiral and Kim trying her best to be there for him as a support system while also dealing with her own personal demons.

"Certainly Jimmy, I think, she lets see the most inner parts of her. But to a great degree this season, she withholds and you do see the increasing pressure of that," Rhea Seehorn explained. Noted Gould, "Kim's love for Jimmy is tested and we know she doesn't end up on Breaking Bad."

But theirs won't be the only relationship explored this season. Season 4 will also offer up greater insight into Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) and reveal just how he became Gus' (Giancarlo Esposito) right-hand man on Breaking Bad. "Our Better Call Saul world is inching closer and closer to the Breaking Bad world," teased Cherkis.

Better Call Saul returns for Season 4 Monday, Aug. 6 at 9/8c on AMC.
