There's more than just The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Netflix and Hulu probably weren't expecting another major streaming competitor to enter the Emmys race and be quite so successful, but that's what happened when Amazon Prime Video debuted shows like Transparent and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. No one probably could have predicted that the latter series would take home awards in a number of major categories, but it did, and now Prime Video is a force to be reckoned with. And it has only just begun rolling out its brand new slate of programming.
Prime Video has a whole catalog of Emmy-winning shows at its disposal, too, which means you can catch up on a bunch of shows you may have missed, or just watch your favorites again, any time you want. Here are 10 Emmy-winning shows you can stream on Amazon Prime.
Emmys won: Rachel Brosnahan, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series; Alex Borstein, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series; Outstanding Comedy Series; Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series; Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series; Outstanding Casting for a Comedy Series; Outstanding Music Supervision; Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing for a Comedy Series
Why you should watch: Midge Maisel did something Lorelai Gilmore could not -- and that's win a bunch of Emmys. The Marvelous Mrs. Maiselcreator Amy Sherman-Palladino now has the recognition she and her shows deserve, and it just happened to come in the form of a 1950s Jewish housewife trying to break into stand-up comedy. Not only is the acting impressive, but the entire look of the show is also phenomenal.
Emmys won: Matthew Rhys, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series; Margo Martindale, Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series (x2); Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series
Why you should watch: FX's Cold War spy drama The Americans is undoubtedly the slow-burn series of the decade, but the payoff is also worth it. The series finale won an Emmy for writing, and we will riot at dawn over the fact that Keri Russell never took home an Emmy for her performance as Elizabeth Jennings.

Emmys won: Outstanding Miniseries or Movie; Dame Maggie Smith, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series (x2); Dame Maggie Smith, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or Movie; Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special; Outstanding Writing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Dramatic Special; Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie; Outstanding Costumes for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special; Outstanding Music Composition for Series (x2); Outstanding Hairstyling for Single-Camera Series (x4); Outstanding Production Design For A Narrative Period Program (One Hour Or More)
Why you should watch: What could have been a stuffy period piece turned into a cultural phenomenon thanks to the engaging drama and relationships that existed between the aristocratic Crawley family and their downstairs staff on Downton Abbey. Dame Maggie Smith also further cemented herself as one of the greatest actresses ever with her portrayal of the Dowager Countess, who delivered an endless stream of one-liners that cut you right to the core.
Emmy won: Tatiana Maslany, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series
Why you should watch: Orphan Black might only have one Emmy to its name, but it's incredibly deserved. Over the course of the series, leading lady Tatiana Maslany played over a dozen different versions of one clone, seamlessly slipping in and out of these characters as if she was born to do this.
Emmys won: Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series (Half-Hour) and Animation (x2)
Why you should watch: Mozart in the Jungle was the first Amazon series to really break into the awards race, and it's OK if you've never watched it, let alone heard of it. The Golden Globes really loved the show, which was based in the world of music, and while it never won any major Emmys, it did take home a couple over its four-season run.

Emmys won: Rami Malek, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series; Outstanding Music Composition for a Series
Why you should watch: Even though there are hundreds of new shows every year, it's rare that one as unique as Mr. Robot comes along. To explain the hacker drama will spoil it a little, but you should come for Rami Malek and stay for the things going on inside his head.
Emmys won: Kristin Chenoweth, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series; Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series; Outstanding Music Composition for a Series (Original Dramatic Score); Outstanding Art Direction for a Single-Camera Series; Outstanding Makeup for a Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic); Outstanding Costumes for a Series; Outstanding Picture Editing for a Comedy Series (Single of Multi-Camera)
Why you should watch: The world would probably be a better place if Pushing Daisies hadn't been unceremoniously canceled after two seasons (blame the 2007-08 writers' strike!). The Bryan Fuller-created show was amazing, beautiful, and heartwarming, not to mention a marvel to look at. It also told one of TV's best love stories, between a pie maker and a woman he brings back from the dead. Honestly, it's great.
Emmys won: Tony Shalhoub, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (x3); John Turturro, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series; Stanley Tucci, Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series; Outstanding Main Title Theme Music (x2); Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics
Why you should watch: Before he became Mrs. Maisel's dad, Tony Shalhoub was the critically beloved Monk, a detective who suffers from OCD after his wife's death, and, in total, is afraid of 312 different things out there in the world. Though he might be solving crimes, watching Monk is like getting a warm hug from your television.

Emmys won: Kyle Chandler, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series; Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series; Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series
Why you should watch: Friday Night Lights might be rooted in Texas high school football, but it's about so much more than the sport by the end of the series. It made us laugh, it made us cry, and it made us root for Tim Riggins again and again. Featuring an outstanding cast, it's one of the best and most beloved series ever.
Emmys won: John Lithgow, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (x3); Kristen Johnston, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series (x2); Outstanding Choreography; Outstanding Costume Design for a Series; Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy Series or Special
Why you should watch: A show like 3rd Rock From the Sun would probably never make it on TV today (the 1990s were a much different place), but Lithgow gave a convincing performance as an alien trying to make it on Earth, and that's really just the beginning of the story.
