ABC Names Ben Flajnik as the Next Bachelor

To all of you who wanted someone fresh: sorry. Ben Flajnik is the new Bachelor, ABC announced Tuesday.

"Secret is out. Looking forward to my new journey as the new bachelor!" Ben tweeted.

"I'm extremely happy [with the choice]," host Chris Harrison told TVGuide.com.

Should Ben be the next Bachelor?

The 28-year-old winemaker hails from Sonoma, Calif., where he returned to live after his father died in 2007. Emotionally guarded during his run on The Bachelorette, Ben ultimately opened up to Ashley on their final date and declared he was in love with her. Ashley later chose J.P. and rejected Ben's proposal.

In a recent TVGuide.com poll, Ben led contenders Ames and Constantine by wide margins, getting 33 percent of the vote. However, 41 percent of users hoped to see a new face lead the next season.
